Ed's Drilling & Blasting COmpany designs, builds, stocks, sells and delivers magazines used for the storage and transportation of high explosives. All of our magazines meet federal requirements in effect at the time of sale. We also sell used magazines.

  1. Class 2 Magazines are used for overnight storage of explosives. We build our magazines using quarter inch steel, lined with four inches of hardwood (floors are two inch). The magazines are mounted on steel skids and include ventilation, lock protectors and lifting lugs. The external dimensions, H x W x D, and the approximate weights of our standard sizes follow:

    4' x 2.5' x 3'.............. 1,800 lb.
    6' x 4' x 4'................. 3,800 lb.
    6' x 5' x 4'................. 4,400 lb
    6' x 6' x 5'................. 5,600 lb
    6' x 8' x 6'................. 7,800 lb.

  2. IME-SLP 22 Trasportation Boxes are used for trasporting detonators (caps). These boxes can be mounted outside or inside the cargo box, and are custom designed for each application.

  3. Class 3 Magazines are commonly called "day boxes." These boxes are used for the on-job storage of explosives. Federal regulations ban the use of these boxes for unattended storage. We custom design these boxes for each application. Local regulations regarding the design of these boxes vary considerably.

We deliver magazines to your location FOB our shop, or load them onto the common carrier of your choice. Please note that unloading equipment is required.

PRICES: Prices will be quoted upon request. We DO NOT SELL explosives.
